Day of Prayer for Survivors of Abuse

Bluebells

Each Year the Catholic Church sets aside a day of special prayer for survivors of abuse.

As a monastic community we are committed never to forget the sense of betrayal and hurt that survivors of abuse have experienced, sometimes by the damaging behaviour of members of our community. We are deeply sorry for the hurt caused and pray for healing of body, mind or spirit.

This year alongside offering Mass for this intention we will pray the Stations of the Cross in the Monks Wood as an act of reparation and healing at 3.30pm. Please join us first in the Car park of the Grange at 3.20pm if you can join us. All are welcome.

Lord Jesus, you were not afraid to challenge attitudes and behaviours that damaged others. May victims and survivors find a way to the safety and support they deserve, access to safe places where they can speak the truth, and people able and willing to hear and act upon that truth, and find in you a way to life, life in all its fullness.
