MOUSEMAN TALK AND TOUR
Ampleforth Abbey and College, just a few short miles from the Kilburn home of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson, was the most significant commission for the iconic Yorkshire craftsman. Not only did it inspire many of his most recognisable creations, but it also proved instrumental in the success of his career. Over the decades, Mouseman made an array of furniture and fittings for the Abbey and College, including a unique fitted library.
As part of the valuation day, Tennants’ Mouseman Specialist Diane Sinnott will be giving a talk on the evolution of the work of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson, his links with Ampleforth and his iconic Monk’s Choir.
Though tickets for the accompanying tour are now sold out, guests can explore Mouseman's famous work within the Abbey Church using our free, self-guided tour brochure, as well as that in the Abbey Tea Room.
